The No-Smoke Budtender

Lipophilic molecules
Lipo and hydro… fats vs. water… nonpolar to polar. THC & CBD are lipophilic, which means the cannabinoids are fat lovers. Most terpenes are lipophilic and leach onto animal fats (saturated) with more potency than plant-based fats (unsaturated), with the exception of coconut oil. Little did I know that our endocannabinoid system is also a lipid signaling system. So, when we digest an edible concocted with saturated fats, like butter, ghee, chocolate, or even better, coconut oil, during or immediately after a meal that is also high-fat, it can make the health benefits of cannabis edibles even more potent.
Medium Chain Triglyceride, also found in coconut oil, is my saturated fat of choice because of its health benefits, like providing energy boosts, assisting with weight management, and reducing inflammation in the gut.
Keep in mind, our health-conscious population is growing, and this population is serious about their dietary intake. So, if you are an “infusionist,” choosing the healthiest saturated fat and fatty meal for your client base is ideal.
Before gaining this knowledge and now in retrospect, I remember dining at a cannabis pizza lounge in New York, and BABY… HIGH as a KITE in April!! All of that infused mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and butter attacked my intestinal lymphatic system, transported into my bloodstream, and it was UP!

Remember, all whole fats and no polyunsaturated fats makes Jack a happy and high boy.
